Cable Car Museum

I went to the Cable Car Museum.

It is not so big, but there are a lot of interesting things to see.

How to go there

I used the cable car, of course.

I got on the "edge" of the car. I wasn't able to do it when I got on it the last time.

(It's very fun to get on the edge!!)

About Cable Car

The cable car in San Francisco moves by gripping the cable under the ground. The cable is always moving.

It means that There are very long cables under the ground where cable cars runs. crazy.

There are 4 cables.

Each cable is about a few kilometers.

All the cables are moved by the motors in this museum.

It is true that I can understand ...

However, the scale is huge! Always moving the a few kilometers long cables!

Cable Car Museum

The appearance of the museum is made of bricks.

The building itself is old.

Appearance. Cables was moved by steam engines. The chimney is the remain.

They explain the history.

This panel explains how it works.

I'll explain how it works in the next article. It will be long.

You can a slide show about San Francisco Earthquake by using this machine. A quarter coin is needed. The left one was out of order.

Cables and brakes which wear out. Of course, metals wear out.

物販。
You can buy souvenirs.

Under ground. The cables go to the town from here. Interesting.

There was a yard upstairs. The cars can enter here from the steep slope. It's very San Francisco.

That's all! I'll explain how it works in the next article. That was very interesting.
