I talked about the climate of San Francisco before, but this time it is about the topography.

San Francisco is famous fot that there are many steep slopes.

That's why there are cable cars.

(Only Japanese)

Slopes and Hills

There are many slopes and hills in San Francisco.

agajo.hatenablog.com
This is Lombard Street. The slope is too steep, so they bend the road and extend the distance to reduce the angle.

This Lombard Street is on "Russian Hill".

Stairs to Russian Hill.

The scenery from the top of the stairs.

Filbert Street
Very steep slope on Filbert Street.

Because Russian Hill is a hill, you can see beautiful site in every direction.

Coit tower, which is on "Telegraph Hill".

Golden Gate Bridge.

You can see Alcatraz!!

There is "Nob Hill" in the south of Russian Hill. The topography of this neighborhood is irregular.

Why There Are So Many Slopes?

The Pacific Ring of Fire

One thing that comes to mind is the "The Pacific Ring of Fire".

The Ring of Fire is a major area in the basin of the Pacific Ocean where a large number of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur.(from Wikipedia)

Japan and San Francisco are in The Pacific Ring of Fire.

Because there are also many earthquakes and crustal movements, it seems that these hills were formed.

One more.

Road laying method

San Francisco is not a natural settlement.

It is a city where a lot of people came in the gold rush days and the structure as a city was prepared at once.

From the beginning, roads and communities are plannedly created.

At that time, a road was created in parallel / perpendicular

They ignored the hills.

As a result,

There are many steep slopes in San Francisco ...

San Francisco Public Library

As its name suggests, it is a public library.

There is one main library and several other branches around San Francisco.

This is the Sanset Branch. It's in the Sanset District.

The Sanset Branch is not big. It's a "Hiraya".

"Hiraya" reminds us of a Japanese house, but it's cetainly "Hiraya" because this has only one floor.

No, there might be a basement floor. Is it "Hiraya" if it has a basement floor? I'm not sure lololol

Main Library

This is the main library. I live in this.

Everyone can enter it. Nothing is checked at the entrance.

Although there is strong security at the entrance, that person is to hold the person who took out the alarm when taking out

This is in the area called "Civic Center".

Then, I've introduced the library.

You might think "You don't need to introduce a library. Tell me about sight spots."

Japanese people who go to language schools use the library.

結論 Solution

It is a sudden conclusion. In an article of the type that conveys information like this, it is better to have a conclusion first.

Do Not Use Daydream technical preview

(Japanese website)

As mentioned in this page "However, it seems that there is a problem with the performance on the daydream incompatible terminal at the moment"

It seems to fail if you develop for daydream incompatible terminals using Daydream technical preview version of Unity.

The method to use the regular version is also included, and it worked out well.

Unity
It was okay just to reinstall Unity normally.

What I tried

Choose Only "cardboard" in "Virtual Reality Supported"

It is the item "Virtual Reality Supported" in Player Settings when it is builded.

Daydream technical preview
You can choose this if you use Daydream technical preview.

However, it didn't work. Choosing Oculus or Daydream didn't work, neither.

Drill down on causes

Android Studio
I confirmed the error message using Android Studio.

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: Didn't find class "com.google.unity.GoogleUnityActivity"

I do not know if my sensitivity is not good, or if I do not work, I can not tell the difference in culture, but I have not found much difference.

Well, I went once.

The number of exhibits was so many that I could not see all of them.

No, maybe an ordinary person does not go so many times

I am too overweathe experience type science museum

It takes a lot of time to understand the contents properly for each exhibit, so it takes a lot of time.

So, I went again.

By the way, the first bullet is here.

So I will introduce the exhibition to you.

Mirrors facing one point. It is like this when I do this with my eye and camera.

The insanely fine circumference rate table. If you put a figure of about six digits in the machine, that machine will find it from the table. Since it is a printed matter, there is no room for fraud.

It rolls smoothly

It is really interesting to see it actually.

The problem with this was out in the entrance examination of Tokyo University in the year when I fell. An interesting part of this exhibit is that where the magnet turns off and the handle idles. Prevent damage. Great.

Good.

In this area, there are many exhibitions that can not be done alone lolol

Barter bowl. When I bring something, I put the same or more valuable things. The chair is funny

A puzzle that makes people ride horses by overlaying a panel of people on a picture of horses. I solved it with one tip. Such a good one. very interesting.

As you move the block to the position of the limit, the end of the top block protrudes from the position of the bottom block. It is hard to understand because the photo itself is inclined lol

Buffon's needle problem. I tried throwing it, but it was troublesome to count and it ended with that lolololol

Tornado generator. There is one also at Nagoya City Science Museum.

A device that can actually test Monte Hall problem, divided into a questionnaire and a respondent. The difficult point in actual experience of stochastic system is that we have to do it many times.

You can't see yourself wherever you look in this mirror

Exhibition of "Aha experience" which became to have a distressed sense in Japan.
With one idea you can bring these two balls to the left and right sides respectively.

Afterword

Today, the topic that the precision of Google translation between English and Japanese jumped up was exciting on Twitter all day, so I tried it immediately when I wrote this article. It is insanely easy to use. Perhaps, it will be easier to read than I posted yesterday that I was writing on my own. Sometimes, it was interesting that I thought like "It interpreted so!". It is impossible to correctly interpret ambiguous sentences without context.
